Yeah Sister W. is definitely in my district. She is about 15 months into her mission, and back to the same area where she began her mission here in El Estor.
She is AWESOME! We have just about the same taste in music, so conversations are always fun.
Our district changed around a bit, since her companion changed to Chamelco, in Baja Verapaz. We now welcome Sister F. from Boston, Mass. We met her just yesterday, and was able to speak to her a bit.
We had the sisters come up to our area here in Chulac, to see the scenery and take pictures and just hang out. Not much happened this week though, other than the fact that im a fantastic cook.
We slaughtered a pig on saturday, and in appreciation of our service, we were able to pick out the prime pork meat, which we took to our outdoor cooking range, and where I cooked it over a wood fire. It was delicious. heheh
oh, we also borrowed a few bikes on saturday, and rode them about 7 miles uphill to Sepamac, one of our areas. The fun part was riding them back downhill..at night, by the light of the full moon...with no flashlight...and no brakes. I had to press my foot against the tires to slow the bike down.
other than that, the week was uneventful. The rainy season is starting here in the mountains, and its been raining for 3 days STRAIGHT.
Right now, we are working on a young couple, who want to get married, so we can baptize them. He is 22, and she is 17. The only obstacle is getting them married, not because shes a minor, but because of legal documents that need to be filed, and sent to a few places, etc etc. the legal system here in Guatemala is a lot different than in the States.
