I have a bunch of pictures takenn stuff.
My neW area is here in Guatemala city, in an area called los pinos.
its pretty crazy.
i live in Colonia Galilea,near avenida atlantica.
my new companion isBenjamin williams, from orem utah.
this computer is at an internet cafe, and the space
baris really hard to press. therefore, mymessage willbe short,because
its absolutely ridiculous.
its reaaaalllly hot and humid here.
and the area is relatively safe, although were told to avoid a few
areasby 5pm, because we could die.
we already found a few investigators, and are ready to set a datefor
them to getbaptized,however, they willbe going out of townb for nearly
a month.
one we especially like is a guy named
ready for baptism.
another is Mario Muñoz, who has been an investigator with us for the
past week, and is already ready.
I absolutely love the mission, and i wouldnt trade it for anything
else right now!
my apartment is pretty ghetto, and overlooks a little canyon, it has 4
rooms; a kitchen, a closet, the dining room, and our bedroom.
its barely even furnished, but weremaking the best of it.
the currency here is crazy!!!!
its 7.4 quetzales pper dollar.
we can get a gatorade here for about 2 Kets, or basically 20 cents.
a taxi ride acrosstown is about50kets or 5 bucks-.
buss rides are 14 cents.
food for a WEEK for 2people,is about 300 kets, or 40 dollars.
it rains all the time though, and its very random. sometimes well be
walking down the street and all of a sudden theresan absolute
downpouron us.
wemet a few families who have adopted us already.
they are the familia Barrios, mendoza, rodriquez, romero, and chinchilla.
we get invited to dinner nearly every day.
the local food is fantastically delicious!!!!
i still havent eaten anything strange though.
we killed a wasp theother night, the size of my name tag. ill send
pictureslater,this computer sucks.
anyway, i think ill rather stickto sending letters, because writing
via computer ispretty lame. ill try to keep you updated!!!
Oh,and my new kekchi name is Elder Laj Baq. meaning ¨bone¨, which is what Delgado translates to.
